An off-beat recommedation (Score 1)

Eduard Tufte has some interesting and quite beautiful books on design and the presentation of data. While all of them are not specifically about the GUI of computer applications I think he provides some very compelling ideas about how the information of our programs gets presented graphically and contextually. His are great books and I recommend them for a fresh view of how our work can look.
