Submission + - An exlibris for my books in a digital age?

Submitted by smalgin
smalgin writes: While I cannot boast by an extensive library, it keeps growing every week. I share the books I like the most with my friends and acquaintances. Unfortunately, some of them are sloppy and forget to return my books, so to speak. I would like to put some mark, sticker or a stamp (Ex Libris) on my books to make them recognizable later. However, living in a digital age (blah blah yada yada) I cannot help but wonder how could I improve the ex libris beyond an ink stamp on a title page or a glued-on postcard-sized monstrosity some libraries use?

Did anyone try using RFIDs to identify his books? Please share your experience.

Could We Beam Broadband Internet Into Iran? 541

Posted by timothy from the extend-the-tubes dept.
abenamer writes "Some reporter at a recent White House press briefing just asked the White House press secretary, Robert Gibbs, this question: Was 'the White House....considering beaming broad capability into Iran via satellite so the opposition forces would be able to communicate with themselves and the outside world?' 'Gibbs said he didn't know such a thing was possible. (Is it?) But he said he would check on the technological feasibility and get back with an answer.' I'm not sure what the reporter meant by beaming broadband into Iran: Do they even have 3G? Would we bomb the Iranians with SIM cards that would allow them to get text messages from the VOA? Or somehow put up massive Wi-Fi transmitters from Iraq and beam it into Iran? How would you beam broadband into Iran?"

Possible Slashdot topic: I've got at least two rebates that never came to me. How Slashdot users cope with this problem? Is there a trend?
