True. But competent programmers realize that they are valuable tools just like emacs, vi, ed or whatever else you prefer. Very little of what we use is actually necessary. Good programmers are lazy creatures - they go to great lengths to avoid doing work. A good RAD tool can save you work, and Delphi is a good RAD tool.
