No, because those are entirely different consoles (that play different games), not different models of the same one.

Unless you have one of the original PS3s that are backward compatible.

But, your right, they removed BC from PS3s and a lot of people still play PS2 games.

Sony originally stated that they were going to make it so original PSP owners could get their old UMD games over to the PSPgo somehow.

Any word on that? Otherwise why would original PSP owners "upgrade"?

Peggle for PC is still available for $10. It's the same price on the Xbox 360 (Live Arcade).
The iPhone version is $5.

Are you telling me that you would rather sit in your living room playing Peggle on your iPhone to save $5? Seriously?? Well, that is your prerogative, but don't come complaining back here when you've gone blind and cross-eyed from starring at a 2" screen and have carpal tunnel syndrome.

It's worth the $5 extra dollars, to me, to be able to play it on an HD big screen and hear it on 5.1 surround sound while sitting comfortably in my living room using a much more comfortable ergonomically designed controller. Not to mention XBLive with friends and game achievements.

I'd pay the $10 for a console arcade game. I would not purchase any phone games at ANY price, except the ones that I've had for free, and those I've only played once or twice. But that's me. Playing a game that I can barely see, hardly hear, and cramps my hand in the process does not interest me in the least.

My leisure time comfort is worth much more to me than $5, but please, feel free to go knock yourself out. 8^b

Do you know why people are moving away from traditional media? Because it acts like it's better than we are. Blogging has become popular because it's there in plain english, the way we look at things -- and it's accessible and free. I can share it with my friends instantly -- unlike a newspaper which is physical and takes time.

Mostly true, but not entirely. The Times here is still a makeshift umbrella, but the PI went all online at least a year ago and it reaches a sufficient level of geekdom. Connects to Facebook, Twitter, various Blogs, etc. And has a fairly friendly and accessible layout - not to mention FREE.

Here, take a look

But I will always have a soft spot in my heart for black ink on my fingers leaving, have to fold it up at least 3 different ways a half dozen times reading, and it's now all over the sidewalk because the winds blowing - have it in my hands newspaper. Mostly because, you know, it rains a lot here in the NW and they make great disposable umbrellas! ;^)

Sony could kill the PSP 3000, but in doing so they will kill the whole PSP line in the process. The fact that they haven't shows thay are not confident in the PSP Go.

Agreed, but by that same analogy is it plausible to say that because Sony hasn't killed the PS2 line that they are *still* not confident in the PS3?

IMO it's not good for their product line at all. Now they have 2 consoles and 2 handhelds on the market. I think having more game and app choices would be preferable to coming out with different platform choices. It makes it harder to solidify your consumer base.

That's just my .02 on it. If Sony hadn't made a God of War game for the PSP I NEVER would have bought one, but I like Kratos.
