Comment A real man/woman (Score 1) 160

This idea that coding was a task for a real man or woman who were not lazy and capable of avoiding the pitfalls of the particular language they were using is and was never true. When you release a tool to the world that by its very use has the capacity of compromising security it will, of course, result in compromised security. So any effort to develop tools that prevent security flaws as part of the development process are superior for the general development community. Maybe that's not the case for some particular specialist project but for general development that will always be the case.

When I was at the University of Delaware we started with C. When my godson started 4 years ago it was scheme. I was never a big fan of scheme/lisp languages personally. I like the idea of using a relatively easy to understand language for fundies so long as its robust enough to cover all the bases. I don't think scheme/lisp is a good choice.

Agreed! I continue to hold on to cable because I get tired of constantly having to enter credentials on my ROKU box to enable a stream from all of the various content providers. Also, who can afford to subscribe to all of the different streaming options coming along? There will be diminishing returns if they ramp up security too much on these things.
