I used to have them themed around their purpose (server, workstation, etc.) or box type (laptop, tower, etc.) but now they are all named after a particular type of liquid. Here goes:

My Thinkpad (XP): ardbeg
My Powerbook (Panther): knockando
My Tower (XP): lagavulin
Web/DB Server (2kS): oban
Mail/DNS/etc. (FreeBSD 4.X): cardhu
Fileserver (FreeBSD 5.X): springbank
Router (m0n0wall): cragganmore

oh, and the wife's Thinkpad (XP): jimbeam
(ah well, she's not a fan of the single malt)
