Comment They are just learning this now? (Score 2) 111

I live in a common car centric city like most of North America. I had to walk 10 km down a 5 lane stroad, where there's absolutely no trees near the sidewalk that's right beside a giant heating pad (the asphalt) beside cars that are also emitting heat, more heat cause they probably have the A/C on. This was on a day where we hit a new all time high temperature record. The only thing I had to rest in shade was a concrete electrical poles. I hate how car centric everything is, a 2 hour walk would have been a 10 min drive. Everything is spread out cause there's giant parking lots everywhere. Which doesn't matter for someone with a car, but for a person walking it adds a huge amount of time. Not to mention traffic lights and everything is again tailored for cars. A car sitting at a traffic light for a minute may not matter, but for a person hitting a traffic light and waiting a minute for it to change adds a huge amount of time as you'll probably be hitting them all, as again the timer for the traffic light is designed and suited for cars.

Can get a Steamdeck for $500 in my lesser currency, probably less than 500 in EUR. That ARM and Apple engineer single threaded performance might be better but not by more than a single digit percentage, and a iPad pro is double the cost. Along with AMD being on older nanotech. Not to mention you can actually use that performance for games. Going with the iPad Pro price tag you can just buy a laptop that will have similar CPU performance and better GPU performance, along with content to actually play. It is a bit disingenuous of him to suggest building a whole PC is as cheap as 500 EUR. The 5800X doesn't have an integrated GPU, it doesn't come with a CPU cooler either. A decent event low range GPU costs a pretty penny, then you won't be able to do a whole lot of gaming on it. If you want a lot of storage that's not cheap either, though probably cheaper than the options available for tablets that tac on $100+ for each minor increment.

Comment Re:Organinized Religion (Score 1) 261

That's not a fair assessment to make. The majority of people are religious as a result of history and culture, everyone is raised from childbirth to follow their parent's religion. I'd be curious to see the statistics of how many of those "scientists" were raised without a religion and given the choice to choose which religion they want to follow when they turn 18 or were baptized and groomed since birth like is tradition in many religions. Almost all of the scientists on the list that are alive were born pre-internet. Atheism is on the rise for a reason, and it's no coincidence a country like Pakistan is trying to censor the internet for religious reasons.

Comment Re:Here's an idea (Score 1) 261

I don't dedicate my entire life to something irrational thought. If someone points out something irrational I try to better myself. Religious people try to stop change and use their 5000 year old book to try to justify it. There's people that hold up their hand to the point it becomes stuck rendering it non-functional to show their devotion to their imaginary friend.
