The Lafayette scene refers to the shots that were done in the "Lafayette Hotel", the hotel that had the windows bricked up when the matrix was changed. In the whole of the movie there are only three hard lines that are used. The phone booth, the Heart O' The City Hotel and the Lafayette Hotel...most of the scenes happen in the two hotels.
