I am happy to watch adds if it helps the creators of channels I watch but it looks like all the channels I watch are demonetized so I do not get to see the adds.
I think youtube has over the last year been trying to gradually sneak in audio compression. In 2008, they were caught adding it and had to back it out.

It's as if to keep people entertained, they have to fill the silence so instead of silence I hear sharp breathing. For many videos if I heard breathing that loud in real life I would think the creator had health issues or was upset.
For me to pay for youtube as a service I would need a guarantee the content was as the creator intended (at least as an settings option). I would like audio to have the same authentication features as MQA but make them optional so proprietary software isn't required. A next generation streaming service should have these features. At least with cable television, there is a setting on the cable box to turn on or off compression. I watch youtube with Kodi and have gone through the settings.
