On the one hand, yes, people must be paid for their work.

But on the other hand, the people who actually -did- the work in this case are not the ones setting the price, and they are not the ones getting the money. Music creators don't see a nickle of licensing, most of the time.

If an Applebees in Podunk Nebraska plays a Hendrix song, does his estate or his heirs get the money? Or is it some conglomerate that acquired the rights in a hostile takeover 20 years ago? Yep, the conglomerate.

And a quick reminder, the owner of the Podunk Applebees is not the one who ultimately pays for that license fee. YOU are. Because costs are passed on to the customer.

Thus we have a situation where people are being gouged for license fees and the musicians are still getting nothing.

Things are never as easy as one might hope.

Due to a disability, I can only type with my right hand. It definitely slows my typing. But, I have learned to work around this. For example, I use "sticky keys" which lets me type Shift, Ctrl, Alt, and release those keys. so, Ctrl+C is typed by pressing Ctrl then releasing it, then pressing C then releasing it. The regular way also works while "sticky keys" is enabled.

Yes inherently its just running on the customers computer anyway, so they don't actually have control.

Not sending other players locations when not necessary etc would be cooler.

And you can cheat by off-device means anyway, you can do an aimbot that doesn't run any code on the computer now.

To teach you don't need massive amounts of content, lessons don't need to be superfacially unique at all, they're scalable on their own.

The need to make new books for schools etc every year is based just on the need to sell them too, basics of languages do not change every year, a student doesn't benefit from unlimited amounts of basic class learning material.

I think the point of the "study" is that those who get UBI continue employed work, refuting a common claim that much of the population would quit working.

Does it really matter?

To the extent people do quit working, there is more work to do, allowing those who want more luxuries to get another job and earn extra money for that.

I have doubts about this study. I believe it does not study the reality of an economy with a UBI (emphasis on "universal" ... everyone gets it). things could be very different in such an economy. maybe they then need to study how it effects 122 people not getting a UBI.
