Better yet the entire Fibre network here was a joint government/Private venture.
This means that ALL ISPs get access to the network at the same wholesale rate. I have access to over a dozen ISPs each offering slight tweaks to pricing/services/inclusions.
But the price is the price, it is illegal to have hidden fees in New Zealand and all non business retail must also include sales taxes, so the price you see on the ticket is the maximum price you have to pay, you can still negotiate a lower price on many items.
We also have no tipping here.
Taxes are simple, so much so there is zero need for most people to file tax returns.
We have a single 15% sales tax on all goods and services (GST). Businesses can claim this sales tax back.
The consumer Guarantees Act (CGA) also says that any product issues you have must in the first instance be sorted by the store you bought it from, there is ZERO need to deal with Apple, Microsoft, Sony, etc etc etc. AND goods must be free from defect for a reasonable amount of time which is MUCH longer than any manufacturers warranty, there is ZERO need to buy extended warranties.
Its call having a government by the PEOPLE for the PEOPLE. Corporations are not people.
We have a electoral commission that sets the boundaries of voting areas.
People are encouraged to vote, they make great efforts to have as many people enrolled to vote as possible
Voting booths are common, most schools tend to be a site, as are lot of libraries, council buildings and so on, and you can vote in person for something like a week before hand and there are postal ballots.
