I had a fairphone 1. It lasted for almost 2 years until the battery started bloaring. Got a replacement for free (warrenty). This one lasted for another 2.5 years. Then there was no new one available. Then I got myself a new phone, not only because of the battery, but also because there were no more system updates and the phone was WAY too slow to run most of current apps. My strategy now: Buy a rather high end phone where you can replace parts and where you expect to be system updates for quite some time.

Well, actually, this may be useful as backup space. I'm working in a small company with a small server. Right now, we're regularly doing backups on tapes. But actually it would be quite easy to mirror the few GB we have on this server on one or several desktop computers. Wouldn't it? This should be possible with rsync. Is there any similar tool for Windows? Simon
