This is rather old... Our new right wing government (surprise, surprise) doesn't like windturbines that much. And to be frank they doesn't look pretty in our rather flat lanscape.
To be honest I don't think we will see many new
on-shore windturbines here in Denmark soon - but a few of really large off-shore installations are planned (and a new one is just finished, see www.hornsrev.dk).
That said, wind energy will go worldwide: If you look at it in pure economical terms wind-energy is no longer more expensive than conventional energy sources now! As the turbines have grown bigger the actual power cost per kWh is down to 3 cents/kWh depending on the wind conditions on the site.
Unfortunately, we have to compete with old coal
and oil plants which have gotten a lot of substansies already.
But on the long run you can expect countries around the world to invest in wind turbines rather that coal and oil plants depending on how strong the (conventional) energy-lobby is.
