Journal silent_rock's Journal: all night long, baby 5

Stared at the laptop screen all night long. Started around 10pm. Did pretty well until 4am, when I took a web surfing break. Poster, poster! I have pictures of a Maytag washing machine, a ferris wheel, and a hamster wheel on my poster. Nobody cares about this poster either.

When I die, you know what's gonna keep me warm? Those degrees! (Did I ask Bossy if Kanye West was related to Cornell West? Did she look at me like I was the stupidest idiot in the world?)

Also got GreenDay, The Shins, Beatnuts, Roots, Streets, DJ Shadow. Ooh and Lloyd Banks feat. Eminem. (47 more days...)

Man, I feel so invigorated.

Oh yeah, I'll set this straight here (where all of 2 people will read it): A recent Wired article states "the way carbon dating all the rocks in Yellowstone would be important to geologists..." Excuse me, You do NOT carbon date ROCKS! WTF! You can carbon date WOOD other organic matter. In addition, the half life of carbon-14 is much too short to date rocks in Yellowstone! Now all these geeks are running around thinking that geologists carbon date rocks. Man. I always get nervous that when I go on these rants, thinking I might be wrong, but it's me - rockologist in training - against a Wired nerd. I think I'm right...

The m-w Word of the Day for Sep 30 is:
lucubration \loo-kyuh-BRAY-shun\ noun
: laborious or intensive study; also : the product of such study ; usually used in plural
