ingenious vs. ingenuous (the "lacking craft or subtlety" def.)
My latest and greatest vice is running over to the Main Library and checking out various and sundry (is that redundant...) books that are not related to my QUALIFYING EXAM and then spending the weekend reading, analyzing, and becoming infatuated with characters and authors. I guess I'll do anything to escape reality.
I visited John Kerry's friendster site, seems legit, it's pretty cool of him to do that. Good campaign move. I considered adding him as a friend and then writing a testimonial "You go, Masshole!" but thought it might be inappropriate.

so then i'm thinking, okay i love his personality, and nothing's going to happen anyway, but could i ever be in a relationship with a guy who can't solve for r? this is a valid question. although i don't quite need to answer it at this time. (re: some dude I used to tutor in math)
In the Sorry-please-try-again Dept.
1. I went to the pool for my laps and as I was getting ready to jump in, the guy in the next lane splashed me with water. I was like, what the F... but it was Moreau. So we swam and then when I was done, he said, You seem a lot faster than last year (we run into each other at the pool a few times a year). At first I was like Yes! I am getting faster, a real swimmer said so! But then I realized, he really means, Last year you were so friggin' slow you were holding up the entire lane.
2. I went to shoot some hoops with melliott before his IM game and I said, "Don't block my hook shot!" (he did, from the far side) and later after contesting one of my shots he said "I feel like Manute Bol!"
3. To the man who stepped out of the middle door of the bus and proceeded to (consciously, intentionally) body check me as I was running towards the front door as I had been running for the past block to catch the stupid bus, F YOU!
4. I sent out an email entitled "spam" to a buncha people telling them to please visit juked.com because I am so damn proud of my cover photo and have been reading some of the stuff and think it's pretty damn funny (esp. that John Wang guy), thinking that I was so clever and witty to send such an email, and shmoon wrote back "les i got such a weird e-mail from your e-mail address titled "spam" - did you send it?"
Oh yeah, I almost forgot, Happy Birthday, Einstein.

(1) there's a reason i use handles
(2) at least spell your subject correctly
(3) of course i am full of myself or why do you think i maintain this stupid journal?
(4) luke hates me anyways, ever since i said i wouldn't allow him within 1 mile of my experiments
(5) i didn't say my life was tough, i said Please Try Again.
(6) no you cannot have 34 references in your 2 page proposal!
