Yeah because your average retail worker will make a great coder right?
What is it about coding that people seem to think is a teachable skill to the man in the street? Why do they always suggest retraining people as programmers? Why not bricklayers or accountants?
I've been in this game for 30 years and it's not something suited to anything but a small percentage of the population just like any other vocation. The people who are interested in it and good at it will already be in that field!
