Submission + - 20 minute version of TSA's 1.4Million dollar left-or-right app. (left-or-right.org)

sharpone writes: In this previous story we learned about the TSA spending upwards of 1.4M dollars on an iPad app which allows a screener to tap the screen and direct the passenger left or right (https://news.slashdot.org/story/16/04/04/2227200/tsa-paid-14-million-for-randomizer-app-that-chooses-left-or-right). In the spirit of helping our friends at the TSA with their fiduciary responsibility, a friend has implemented this app (free of charge) for use by all, including the TSA. It took him about 20 minutes and a can of coke to complete. I present http://left-or-right.org./ Enjoy.

Submission + - Sunrocket cancels service, 200,000+ phones cut off (reuters.com)

sharpone writes: ""SunRocket Inc., the second biggest U.S. supplier of Internet phone services, appeared to have shut down its business on Monday without notifying its customers, which total more than 200,000. ... Callers to its customer service line heard a brief recorded message, saying: "We are no longer taking customer service or sales calls. Goodbye."" So much for recommending VoIP to my friends and family. Do you think they'll be refunded their annual subscription?"
