All of them? Linux would not be a viable option until it has complete support for Windows games. Not ports, but support for. Not Wine...but true support for (or at least...native-speed support, which WINE has never been in my experience). Never said it would happen, merely that is what it would take to be viable for me.

Submission + - Why Google Should Buy the Music Industry (blogspot.com)

Glyn Moody writes: "According to this story about Google's attempts to launch its own music service, "the search giant is “disgusted” with the labels, so much so that they are seriously considering following Amazon’s lead and launching their music could service without label licenses." So here's a simple solution: Google should just buy the major record labels — all of them. It could afford them — people tend to forget that the music industry is actually relatively small in economic terms, but wields a disproportionate influence with policy makers. Buying them would solve that problem too."

Treading the Fuzzy Line Between Game Cloning and Theft 235

eldavojohn writes "Ars analyzes some knockoffs and near-knockoffs in the gaming world that led to problems with the original developers. Jenova Chen, creator of Flower and flOw, discusses how he feels about the clones made of his games. Chen reveals his true feelings about the takedown of Aquatica (a flOw knockoff): 'What bothers me the most is that because of my own overreaction, I might have created a lot of inconvenience to the creator of Aquatica and interrupted his game-making. He is clearly talented, and certainly a fan of flOw. I hope he can continue creating video games, but with his own design.' The article also notes the apparent similarities between Zynga's Cafe World and Playfish's Restaurant City (the two most popular Facebook games). Is that cloning or theft? Should clones be welcomed or abhorred?"

POPS is built into the PSP core firmware/software package by Sony themselves. All modding the PSP does, is allow it to run unsigned code (read: ISOs of PS1 games). The PS1 games you buy from the Sony store are just repackaged ISOs with some information in the header/encryption. You're just using the hardware/software in a way that Sony doesn't like. I've never done it with a phone, but from what I've read, jailbreaking many phones is done to accomplish the same thing (running unsigned code). You paid for the hardware, you should be able to use it however you like.

Excellently put, good sir. I've encountered far to many ignorant people who think DARE is the end of the road as far as substance abuse education. If you do a little research, you'll find that alcohol is a MUCH bigger problem in American society (as far as effects to the end user), than most of the illicit drugs are, especially on a use-by-use basis. One of the biggest problems with alot of the illicit drugs, is the market that you have to go through to obtain them, and the people you have to know. Those two things will create bigger problems for the users than the drugs will by far (if used in moderation / recreationally; hardcore physical and/or phsychological dependence is its own problem, which very much occurs with alcohol as well).
