Just after reading this, I watched this video, which shows Envision's two-bladed prototype turbines, which clearly have segmented blades! It appears that the inner portion is fixed, while the outer portion pivots. This allows them to pivot the blades independently to actively cancel out dynamic forces:

It also makes the maximum load to transport shorter. It doesn't seem like they've released blade length information though.

A bit of research shows that segmented blades are an active topic of research and design. Not a crazy idea.

My 7-year-old son uses the term "search up", which he learned at school. "Dad, just search up the eclipse!" It actually seems like a decent term for, um, googling.
