Submission + - Blogger Sued by Restaurant for Bad Review (248am.com)

Voulnet writes: A recently opened Benihana branch in Kuwait sued 248am.com, a well known Kuwaiti blog, for posting a bad restaurant review about its food, asking for the blog to be shut and more than $17,500 in damages (5000 KD).
Kuwaiti bloggers everywhere have announced their support for the reviewing blogger; even though it is highly unlikely the restaurant will get anything from the court, since journalists are almost always favored in libel cases in Kuwaiti courts.
It seems Benihana hasn't heard of Cooks source magazine.

schliz writes: Net activists at Telecomix are preparing darknets, encryption, proxies and VPNs to protect Egyptians' online freedom when the Government-imposed Internet blackout ends. Today, Telecomix regarded Egypt as being on "the same level as North Korea and Burma in internet censorship" amid rumours that Egyptian phone lines were to be shut down. Analysts and the Internet Society have also warned of technical and business difficulties to come — including BGP churn and commercial fears of doing business in Egypt.

Submission + - Mozilla Releases Do-Not-Track Firefox 4 (conceivablytech.com)

An anonymous reader writes: Mozilla cranked out a beta version of Firefox 4 (Beta 11-pre) that includes the proposed do-not-track feature. Both the nightly builds and latest trunk builds integrate the do-not-track feature. You coudl accuse Mozilla of wasting time with Firefox 4 beta-testing, but this feature certainly has surfaced fast.
