Comment User supplied avatars (Score 0) 60

I expect games that allow user supplied avatars to be a fad soon. A network of model makers like turbo squid could keep churning out cheap ($5 a model) quality models to give decent variety. Software that auto rigs models in the anatomical pose to the game standard would go a long way in achieving this. MMO's having to download other players models is another issue, but I'm sure some games would benefit.

The problem is when Governments support companies to invest in alternative energy research and they misuse the funds or legislative support. AFAIK this is not the case. While I agree pure capitalism in its current form is driven by short term profit for a few people in control, at least in this case the consumer can vote with their wallets... sort of.

To the guy who was attacked: No one with intelligence blames you. In something completely unrelated, my Mother broke her leg due to a telecom company digging a hole in a path (which was grassy so you couldnt see it) and initiated legal proceedings. The Council (who wasnt even the party we were after) threatened a counter suit for costs etc and our solicitor got nervous so we pulled out just in time. This stuff happens every day. I know from my school experiences, do not dwell on bullies or you'll develop a complex. I agree that you should let it go.
