It's not as if the CMB is going to evaporate or something.
It is going to evaporate, slowly....
Seriously. This sounds like an ad. "The new version of our software is out, and ITS BETTER!"
You know Blender is free open source software, right? Slashdot even helped it to become free and open source many years ago.
What are you talking about? Hunter Biden started that conflict by invading Russia. He's also personally responsible for global climate change. Trump himself told me.
The fact that this was modded up as "Interesting" instead of funny is pretty fucking scary. Of course, now watch my comment will be modded up as funny because that's par for the course these days.
I started playing Mines recently, which is just a plain old free open source game from the repos.
Speaking of which....
The distribution center is where that would occur, and I have had to go there for a few things. Anything firearm related is also signature release only.
The last item was a computer I ordered online. Wasn't awake when they came by, after work I stopped at the center and picked it up with a signature and presenting my ID.
So 13 & 14 gen Intels had a double issue -- first their microcode sucked and could cause overvolting over time. Second, many (perhaps most) of the motherboard manufacturers put in bad values for the voltages in the EFI settings, meaning unless you went in and manually set voltages, even the most conservative anti-overclock preset would overvolt. Combining these two led to many fried CPUs over a short period of time. Even game server VPS's were refusing to use them as it was costing them too much.
As for nVIDIA -- I may be slightly off on the timeframe so bear with me, but I think it was starting with the 3090, a new power connector was needed (12VHPWR), and due to a few flaws in many implementations, the connectors were flaming if not just melting. There's a good amount of good info at Gamer's Nexus on YouTube, he did a recap a few weeks back and a deeeeeep dive into the situation as it was kicking off and some in-lab fireworks (found a few simple way to fry all connectors %100 of the time).

Bell Telephone made a film in 1958 called The Unchained Goddess and probably played on NBC back in the day in which they mention the looming threat of man made global warming/climate change: https://www.youtube.com/watch?...
A really long time ago on Slashdot there was a poll for the worst tech movie and The Net (1995) won by a huge margin. However, it would seem that the scenario that it warned us about has come to pass, people trust what a computer says more than physical evidence and it leads to ruining people's lives.
Sounds like Netflix made some risky bets too.
FTFY: So about 8,800 football fields then.
And the malicious attackers come up with a hack against this in 3...2...1...
Heh, we had the same idea. I think you're onto something.
I can understand if they are wanting to preserve parts of the station, but it seems like sending a rocket up to grab it and shoot it to the moon would be useful. Later the materials that end up on the moon could be re-used for small construction projects there without there.
The more they over-think the plumbing the easier it is to stop up the drain.
