The threat from the Xcaster treaty is very real. No one ever thought that the intellectual monopoly industries would succeed in their nefarious scheme to link copyright, patent, and trademark law to trade agreements, but they got the Trade Related Aspects of Intellectual Property (TRIPS) passed.
