Comment Abused like Google (Score 1) 157

This program could be abused just like some websites manage to fool Google's PageRank algorithm.
People say E-Rater checks for proper grammar and spellings, the pages in Google's results also have proper grammar and all. The actual content is what is not wanted. If someone manages to write a completely unrelated essay.. but complete with proper spellings and grammar, he might be able to fool the software.

A better approach would be a software that would require you to input the essay topic for which it would then scourge the internet for related keywords and all. Something just like Siri does. AND THEN checks you essay for proper content + grammar + spellings. If any weird exceptions are encountered, they are flagged for manual checking.

This should give a full-proof E-Rater.

Not really for me..
I only use Ubuntu for it's really user friendly internals. I don't really care about what DE Ubuntu runs by default. Mostly I will just remove/ignore the default Gnome/KDE and install fvwm or Xmonad. It's the core that really matters to me, not the 'outer' appearance.
However I was planning on switching to Debian, since Ubuntu and Debian are (supposed to be) mostly similar on the internal side.

After using Facebook for 3 years I recently deleted my account.
They require you to wait 14 days before the actual cancellation takes place, maybe most people who try to resist to the temptation to use FB are felled by this grace period.
It obviously acts as a secure way to make deletions, in case someones account is hacked, but still.

Finally the people at my school will at least have a clue as to what exactly a CLI is, and how to use it. All those compulsory tutorials for Win 2003/08 server installations and maintenance made me hate Microsoft even more. Being a Linux user for just 5 years has made me almost impossible to live without the command line.

It looks way better than the condition in India, where unlimited broadband plans are practically unlimited only for the first 8GB, after which the speed is throttled down to 256 kbps from a promised 8 mbps. While the non-unlimited ones charge Rs.250 (5.63 USD) per month upto a 1GB limit. After which it's Rs. 0.60 (0.01 USD) per MB, for a speed of 2 mbps.
