Unless Quebec takes steps to fix it's economy, no one's going to care about French. Not even Quebecers if they want a job. The market will shrink to a point where no one will subscribe. Or just use a VPN to connect from other provinces.

I am one of those two users and definitely not happy. Pocket was great to let me save articles to read offline in my e-book reader later. Perhaps it should have remained an add on, but it was certainly useful for those of us who did use it. Anyone have any alternative suggestions for saving and offline reading?

I upgrade about once every 4 years. But when I do, the operating system and the camera are the things I look at. Since I use Android, that's what I stick to. I feel everything else is the same in a flagship or close to it phone. Or at least close enough. Unfortunately in N. America we're not exactly spoilt for choices. Brands like Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi, Huawei, Sony are either not available at all or hard to get. So my choices are essentially Samsung or Google.

I just use gmail on my custom domain. I don't really care for all the other tools.

If Quebec is making no concession to it's English speaking citizens, there is no reason for us to support it's crappy initiative. I'm continuing to buy local though, but my mail order supplies will come from whoever speaks my language, even Amazon.

This is rather silly. You can tether your cell phone with bluetooth anyway. i.e. if you have an unlocked phone.

In the realities of the real world, which most Americans are unaware of, EVERYONE who uses a computer is rich and the rest are poor. Free software does not help those poor in any way. Besides in most poor countries all software is free software. No one here in Bangladesh pays for a MS license, they buy a pirated copy. But no money comes back for education or healthcare from the FOSS community. I don't see Steve Jobs who made a ton of money with BSD saying "Hey I gotta help Bangladeshis get some education with some of this big pile of dough I made". Nor does Red Hat or Canonical.
So use any damn operating system that you like because you like the OS. Don't try to pretend one is more moral than the other. And give credit where credit is due. The Bill and Melinda Gates foundation does a lot of useful and important work here. Work that no other donor agencies have taken on.
