With all the news of government and corporate spying, online sales tax, copyright law abuse, the proliferation of intrusive ads, and most net traffic actually being non-human, has the time come to start finding other ways of communicating and conducting our business?

I think you're misunderstanding the parent. The language no longer serves a purpose for those people. They have willfully abandoned it. The parent isn't asserting that all but four languages should be forgotten, but that on a long enough timeline it'll happen organically and unconsciously.
