I'm sure Demon hit the 100,000 user mark some time ago, so 3,600 is a very small amount of people. Would be nice to get an email from Demon to confirm if you are on the list or not and force password changes for everyone who got compromised. But keeping on track... I also opted out of eBilling as I wanted a paper bill sent to me each month.

Back in the day, Demon Internet in the UK would check for open relays and port block if one was found. The only reason I know this is the numerous entries in my Linux server at the time. I did speak to one of the tech guys who gave me a run down on what they did. I've no problems with an ISP monitoring and protecting itself.

and I'm more than willing to pay a little more to farmers who take additional care to help protect the country's wildlife.

Your just paying the supermarkets. The farmer gets a fraction of what you pay and most farmers have to rent the land they farm, so thats more cost. Add to this the cost of running your goods as organic, only to have the supermarkets spray them (fruit and veg, not meat... I dont think.) which in my mind defeats the object.

I cant help it, I'm married to a farmers daughter. (cue dirty jokes) :)

I'm a Windows server engineer and use both Perl and VB. So I need XP. I am only allowed to use XP or NT clients at work so again, I need XP. (Yes folks, we still use NT4, both server and clients!)

I have a battered old laptop running XP and an old desktop running NT4. I use Dameware to remote control the NT4 box as a VMware client would run my laptop into the ground.

Recently I bought myself a spanking new imac mini. Wow! Two weeks later I went back to the Apple store and got myself a MacBookPro. I've ditched my home desktop and now use the MacBookPro for everything. The mini is used as a media center and is plugged into the network and the tv. (You can tell I'm a geek.)

Anyway, now that Apple has given me a guide and drivers to run XP on my MacBookPro I'm going to use it. My battered old laptop can go to silicon heaven and my employer will be happy that I'm running XP on the works network. AND I can still drop back into OSX when I go home.
