Hey, I'm just speculating what Red Hat's angle is likely going to be. I believe the GPL supersedes any license Red Hat is stacking on top of it, but they're trying to tap the distributors (of distributions) and trying to have a leg to stand on so they can say "you acquired that source code through a breach of contract with our customers, please stop using it." I don't think they care about where it came from or who is doing the leaking. I think Red Hat just wants to say "you built a distribution from source code that was given to our customers under a breached contract." It is very SCO-ish.

Don't think they're going after any potential leakers. Fingerprinting or identifying where the leak is coming from is probably not high on the list. This is more so Red Hat can say "You appear to be building from illegally distributed source code, please stop." They're going after the distributors, not the leakers.
