For some label machines you can get magnetic labels. Handy for labeling kvm's, so if you move things around all you have to do is move the label.

And I have to say I think your statement about Koha people is inaccurate. Just have a look at the very active mailing list archives to see otherwise. Occasionally you may have that but overall Koha folks are very willing to help.
