I'm sorry, but the parent post really doesn't make factual statements and instead spreads a bit of misinformation. I love EVs (they are my profession, literally), but the efficiency of Electric is not close to 100% and is *highly* dependent on speed and other vehicle factors such as the vehicle's weight. To be more specific, the higher the speed, the *significantly less* efficient due to the reality of aero and other drag, far more so than ICEs. Additionally, friction drag is compounded because of the vehicle weight gains, and the added weight (think kW / kg) create a negative domino affect due to the added structures needed to make carrying those batteries around safe.
EVs are wonderful and I am looking forward to them in the future - especially as the infrastructure to deliver that amount of energy for all is in place. But the cradle to grave energy cost (including transmitting and then converting that energy to the right form for the EV) is not a solved issue. Please stay a fan and advocate, maybe even contribute by digging deeper to help solve the barriers to widespread adoption - there are lots of opportunities left for good people to help democratize the technology.
