In an article in a local paper attributed to a "Kim Hart" of "The Washington Post", Kim says that "Companies have argued that if strict limits were disclosed, customers would use as much capacity as possible without tipping the scale, causing networks to slow to a crawl."

...it makes sense to me... then lower the limits, idiots! Many of us would like to know exactly where we stand! If I need more bandwidth than I currently have, let me purchase more. Or let me buy another connection and 'double-barrel' it!

Journal Journal: A first entry

I've finally decided to login and see what all the fuss is... I've been reading for years (and commenting anonymously, off and on). This (summer 2004) is the first summer I haven't had school in some time. I have a baby due this summer and decided I'd rather focus on that than school. (She will, of course, be brought properly into the geek fold even though that means deleting all the pron off an older box that will become hers.) I haven't yet decided what language to introduce her to first. I
