Systems administration is programming and engineering and diplomacy and sales and accounting and probably a hundred other things. Go to college, maybe do an intership or work part time as a junior admin. College won't teach you even a small percentage of all the details you need to know to be an effective admin, but it will likely teach you how to learn those details when you need to. Everything is changing all the time and being able to adapt to those changes is much more important than knowing all the details of how to do sysadmin today. How you do sysadmin today will be completely different from how you do sysadmin in 5 years. College can help you refine the skills you need to adapt to a changing environment like that.
