Jobs likes to brag about low amounts of inventory, because of one reason alone.

If you consider the fact that Apple (not Apple Computer), once sat on tons of invenotry and was horribly unprofitable, it makes total sense to brag about the small, mobile inventory that returned your company to the black.

Any specualtion on Apple using non-PPC based chips is merely that. It's a kick in the pants for the PPC guild.

It's not just the chips/kernel that allow the new MacOSX to be what it is. Look at the Quartz display/OpenGL combo, and you have a great setup for Apple's core customers, the creative professionals.

Any designer worth his Pantone Book/Hex Code Chart...(witty designer humor?) is not willing to turn their back on the core technologies that are going to make OSX what it is. Darwin is NOT OSX and anyone who thinks it is probably doesn't know the difference between (insert computer literate acronym)and (insert computer literate acronym).
