I like this idea a lot. Maybe after showing them, explain what the major components are and how they work together in simple terms. I nice chunky diagram could help them visualize the relationships.
It was suggested below to also show them the internals of a hard drive. Maybe a stick of RAM and/or CPU would be interesting for them to handle.
