Is there a profession that offers it's practitioners 'Glory'? The Knight Errant of old or a Dragoon who survived the "Charge of the Light Brigade" might have achieved glory - but these days it seems to be in short supply.

I learned two things in 4 years of Engineering:
1. You can't push on a rope.
2. Electronics run on smoke. If the smoke escapes, it won't work.
Someone subsequently pointed out that Rule #1 needed modification:
1. You can't push on a rope - unless it's frozen.

How are gas prices set by gas stations? We have 3 gas stations on the corner, and usually they are in agreement (or possibly cahouts). Once in a while one will be seriously out of alignment. Some days they align on the higher prices, some days they align on the lower price. Somedays the prices will fluctuate by 5-15%(I'm in Canada, so the units are $CDN/litre, but the concept is the same I suspect)
