Also key, is the fact that GOOG et al aren't creating the huge "netroots" groundswell like for SOPA.. they stand to gain (collecting databases on users is after all their biz..) -- says a lot about the nature of the Net Roots, how relatively swiftly/quietly this is sailing thru so far.. hopefully the real citizenry, sans Big Bro Google's help, can raise enough stink by the time this hits Conference Committee. A huge affront to the Bill of Rights-- should be a dealbreaker for any Pol who supports it this election year!

Indeedy, we have a big task now to mount the awareness and outrage against this, as "the little people" because this time we ain't got the big Google lobbying against it as with SOPA. Please at least pretend to believe Obama that he might veto it, but in a stern note let him know that you have every intention of holding him to it! An original observation I have made: being homeless, I go long spells with nothing but broadcast radio to consume, and I've long analyzed the make-up of the Hourly News Headlines. This absolute visceration of the 4th Amendment has been deemed utterly not worthy of mention, and the now familiar pattern accompanies this: a whole swathe of jive-ass, arbitrarily-timeable events suddenly fill the headline slots right when such a disgusting process gets rushed through: pronouncements from government departments on this and that, cheeseball campaign directions announced just today, judges in disparate places making statements on decisions that they could've made "any time now", etc. etc.. What really peeved me was the loathesome "Osgood File" which I happened to catch on CBS.. and it started out sounding like it might be the sole mention on MSM, if I only were to wait through the commercial they put in the middle of the 3-minute or so "report".. basically turned out to be simply propagandizing the digitally-challenged masses to think we're damned well under new increased cybersecurity threats, like never before! Stated that hey, we well may have succeeded in hitting Iran's nuke devices with stuxnet, so surely they're going to attack us now! And guess what, they're really dumb but Osgood is here to give us the news: gosh, they can just go *buy* these capabilities.. as if botnets were invented yesterday and we need a brand new anti-anonymity push and deep-packet inspection regime *quick*, right damn now, because any minute now these new-fangled weapons will be upon us! Truly nauseating, the degree to which the masses' minds are now manipulated. As a bona-fide leftist, I was disgusted to see B.O. lift all kinds of left-sounding rhetoric during the 08 campaign. That the whole new kiddie/web2.0 set was pretty much totally fooled, even more despicable. His justice dept has continued Bush's legal battles (pro-"Patriot Act" et al..).. which has met deafening silence in the megaconglomerate (stands to gain) MSM.... his basic econ has been the wet dreams of Larry Summers and Geithner etc.. then note how the MSM eagerly promoted the billionaire-backed faux populism known as "Tea Party".. while continuing the blanket censorship of the Greens and all leftists, which has happened since Greens came to the US but has picked up steam as Dems' lies get more daring and desparate (note how they have moved in on the word "green" all over the place as an overall psy-op.) So just realize, there are real alternatives. (I've voted left of Dems since Dukakis flopped (horrified that Bush was running, knowing his fascist past. (see the front pg of yesterdays NYT re Nazis!)) Matt Gonzales was always a favorite of mine, since he won more votes but was cheated in the count by the Gavin Newsom machine.. (they just HAD to keep gpUS.org from running a major city apparently.) .. though voting for a black WOMAN-- McKinney running as Green, should've became a popular idea if it weren't for the stranglehold the MSM has.
