Journal recursiv's Journal: I want to make everyone my friend. 9

I want to be able to one day walk into a fresh slashdot story and see only my friends. I want every user who ever posts to be my friend. I want everyone to love me.

I've got a pretty good start I guess. Racked up about 800 today.

I want to make everyone my friend.

  • What ??????!!!

How did you do that ?! Don't tell me it was just by sitting all day in front of computer, and clicking on this "Yup I'm positive" button....... Were you ?
    • Assuming it takes 5 seconds to complete this for each user, it would only take about an hour to rack up 800 people. I assume the "find users" feature of Slashdot was used to make a list.

I no longer feel quite so glad that Recursive is on my "fans" list, though...
      • I didn't mean to disappoint. I never intended for anyone's feelings to get involved in this. I just want a lot of friends. Please accept my apologies.
    • Hi Friend!

Don't tell me it was just by sitting all day in front of computer, and clicking on this "Yup I'm positive" button...

I'm assuming that the perl LWP module is in use here... It makes scripting things like slashcode formkeys and cookies a snap. Not that I would know, of course, because accessing slashdot with a script is against the rules, but I'd imagine it would be a snap, anyway.

        Perl LWP module ..... Hmm ...... I see ......

I have never tried it so far, but since you mention it, I may have a look into this :-)

  • Time to remove your only foe [slashdot.org], I guess :)
  • Of course, you could also ensure that you only see your friends when walking into a thread by setting a high score modifier for `friend' status in your preferences, appropriate low modifiers for other categories, and using a high threshhold...
  • I thought I was special. But I see that you're just promiscuous.
