So says a guy writing on an American website, using technologies/ideas that probably originated from America. Look I'm not saying the US is the greatest country in existence, but EU has 450 million people and the US has 350 million people. And all Europeans can do is go online and bitch about how they are "better". "Better" because they can't take any fucking criticism because they egos strickly attached to their assholes. If the Europeans actually tried to put effort (I've worked with Europeans; they really don't give a shit about anything), then maybe we can have cured AIDS, cured Cancer, found a way to make the planet better for everyone, or fixed climate change. But no. The only effort Europeans ever put into anything is rationalizing how they are still "better" then everyone else. Fucking twats. And no I don't work 80 hour weeks. I work 40. With self-retirement (as in no government assistance; just me saving) being a goal in like 20 years. Or maybe instead of retirement and instead of going online and bitching how much better my country is; I'll just try to start a fucking company that can fucking solve some of the issues on the planet instead of being an asshole that leaches off everyone else. Cheers.

I think theirs a balance. The younger children are the easier it is to create structural habits that allows them to succeed in life. If they don't establish strong habits, they are unlikely to succeed. And lets be real. Reading and doing basic math is a basic skill that opens up kids to years of learning more advanced skills. And if they learn advanced skills younger, it opens them up further to goals in life. Its great that it worked out for you. But I don't think everyone is like you. I do agree public education is a failure. But I blame more of that on not giving proper grades to school. For example, I know someone who graduated high school in Maryland was unable to write a research paper (or really any paper) after graduating. Because the schools stopped testing for it.

I know someone who personally worked with the homeless for most of their professional lives. They, in fact, do want to be homeless. Specifically, homeless in a tent city along with all their friends. It gives them a sense of community. And, this is my opinion, but I suppose their might be a psychological reason why they prefer tents that they prop up / maintain themselves versus whatever free housing was (attempted to be) given to them by the city.
