Not at all offensive! Good points well taken! Given the knowledge you've provided, I would say that ANYTHING is better than having them sit, doing nothing. It is nothing short of juvenile detention hall: Being kept after school. Surely there must be some community service programs that are already up, running and staffed. Although I used, working with the deaf as a suggestion, due to my ignorance, anything productive would be better than this sentence. If the judge put any thought into this and wasn't merely looking for headlines, he could have easily sentenced them to one hour, under a prison guard's protection, at the nearest prison, during peak time, to give them a dose of what REAL unwanted noise is. Instead, the judge and the system he represents, is now laughing stock.

I read somewhere, I think slashdot: That there is evidence to suggest that microchip implantation will cause cancer, or at the very least a tumor around the implanted chip as the body rejects it, combined by the fact that they emit radiation. Although the radiation is very low and not constant, it appears to be harmful to the cells surrounding the implant. If you combine that with the fact that you are already dealing with a person that has a compromised immunity: The last thing they need is an invansive foreign object for their immunity to contend with. If this comes to pass, it will reflect poorly on the forsight and intelligence of the legislative body approving it and even more so on government officials that choose to enforce it or even accept it: Unchallenged. This would be a stepping stone to population control on every level. The next step will be other communicable diseases, such as tuberculosis and will then be followed up by "chipping" criminals. Before you know it, you will need to be chipped, before an employer will hire you: THE CHIP tracking everything from your estimated IQ, to the last time you had sexual intercourse. Dark times are ahead if mandates like this are allowed to persist on any level: Anywhere. Does anyone have contact information for this republic? I for one, would like to contact its leaders, asking some very pointed questions: The answers, if provided, will be placed on slashdot. Perhaps we only have a skewed image of what is actually going on, but I aim to sharpen it. If it is found to be true, we need to follow this closely as THIS TECHNOLOGY IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, to freedom as we know it and could literally enslave a population: As it sleeps.

This sentence is a reflection of a judicial system out of control. We have no room for this nonsense in today's environment. Taxpayer dollars put to waste, as well as the time of those serving this sentence. Somebody should question the sanity of such a judge. Even the most simple minded (myself), could come up with a better sentence. Community service to help deaf persons or any number of other things that would not be a complete waste, as apparently this judge is.

I certainly don't want to throw perls to swine: If you actually read my text beyond the subject line, you would see the words, "Modern day equivalent." I used to drive a Honda Insight: That doesn't make me insightful? As to uninformed??? You know I must be getting feeble minded in my age. Perhaps I meant to say Share-Cropping instead of Indentured Servitude. What is that thing called? When you worked the land, but you didn't own it and you got a chance to own it after giving up x share of your crops over x amount of time? Also wasn't that a way for slaves to earn their freedom? The comparison is simply that a student is owned by the student loan. I have heard that some of our best students are abandoning their U.S. Citizenship for other countries when they figure that even under the best circumstances 10 years of their life will be spent paying back the loan: Better to start fresh in another country: They can't garnishee your wages internationally...or can they?
