Agreed. Unless you have a gigantic screen it's hard to tell with video content. Games, maybe. But definitely not video. Besides that my internet connection would never handle 4K so makes no difference to me.

I tried Plasma pretty quickly and loved it from a UI perspective. But my excitement died down pretty quickly when certain quirks became too irritating to learn (I grew up on Windows. The conversion to Unity, Cinnamon or MATE was very easy). It's a shame because KDE has potential (even with the annoying 'K' branding of everything)

Their subscription service is awesome, you can upload your own MP3s, and if you have a terrible mobile plan like me you can actually download music to your phone to listen offline.

The short range is deliberate. You can't isolate the RFID signal. Same result as holding to PayPass cards over the reader: neither will work. The machine can probably clone the cards... wether those cards will keep working is another question however .

I think it depends. If you're on Windows 8 or 8.1, the Windows 10 upgrade is a no-brainer for me. Windows 10 is infinitely better than 8 and if your software and hardware work on 8 they work on 10. Windows 7, the question is a bit trickier. Myself personally, I've never had any issues with Windows 10 and it runs fine for me. I would not willingly downgrade to 7 or 8 again. Mind you, I am using Windows almost exclusively for gaming -- most of my time in my PC is in development and for that Im using Ubuntu more and more.
