I wonder if anyone noticed the warning at the bottom of the article regarding people using such attacks to go with their whims and fancies. Considering the number of internet scandals coming up regarding various vulnerabilities, do not even need that for DDOS attacks sometimes, and codes just available off the net for various such viruses, it is too easy for anyone to blackmail a corporation. Just consider instead of SCO your local bank as the sufferer of the attacks and how much damage that can cause. These latest timed attacked viruses seem the warning of times to come.

Journal Journal: That Other Bollywood dept

Bollywood is the name given to the movie industry in India, cos it is centered at Bombay, currently called Mumbai. But this week I had brush with the other Bollywood, so to say, the British cinema. Last week happened to see two of their products, 28 Days Later and The Hole, both psycho-thrillers, my favorite genre.

I was surprised to find IIS share has gone down in current times from 35% to around 20 with Apache eating it up, courtesy an article speculating integration of search services of the OS/Office with IIS and exposing it some way to go with MSN, and double checked on Netcraft. Considering the slew of server releases (Sharepoint, CMS, BizTalk, Exchange) most of which require IIS it should have gone up. But seems after initial euphoria of IIS 6, down to reality Apache rules by a margin.

A weekend full of movies, two of them in cinema halls, and one good, one bad. Firs the bad one, or rather not so good one, in brief. Paycheck, good idea( Based on a novel?), but too much emphasis on action(And please, you will have to go really GOOD on motorcycle chases after the Matrix Reloaded scene, perhaps the only good part of that movie), and less of the moral/philosphical aspect of the whole thing, no respect for the age-old respected wisdom, YOU CANNOT CHANGE THE FUTURE, and to top it al

What is a new year without the resolutions. Though it is the first time I am trying to go through it officially. Of course, there are the normal every person's hit list ones, i.e. travel more and become fitter, both of which largely limited by rigors of work. Another one if of course to keep this journal. Though not so hopeful of keeping it updated. Another should be to waste less time. The definition of waste is highly varied though. There are a few secret ones also. Expect a update on this is

It comes to my mind too often to wonder what companies are likely to survive and will be fore-runners(read profilt earners) say in 10-15 years. It is more about who is making compromises in the short term and who has understood the field and is concentrating on platforms/architectures development with a long-term perspective.
