I, for one, am overjoyed to know that the clowns who bought these cars expecting to have fewer problems and to save the environment are now facing reality. I will be smiling from ear to ear when they are told that they need to replace the battery at humongous expense and that the old one will probably never be recycled because only 5% are.

They make this prediction every year and every year, people make the exact same comments about how something must be done⦠all the while changing nothing about their everyday lives. Then, the prediction doesnâ(TM)t come true and rather than apologize and admit that they have gotten nothing right so far, they make the same prediction but with a different year. I try to deal with this subject periodically with my students. Theyâ(TM)re clearly addicted to a variety of social media, and since theyâ(TM)re young, they are unaware and even unwilling to believe that it is having a deleterious effect on their mental health and ambition. I simply bring up the fact that when I was a teenager, I was one of very few students who had a computer and access to the Internet. I was learning about the network and making online friends as others paid attention to their studies and on making real friends. The end result is that I became a tech-savvy teacher whereas others became engineers and even directors of engineering at Google making a much higher salary than mine. It makes a powerful point.

If ever they date, they'll both sit at a table and communicate with one another through their phones. Will they have sex? Probably, but through some app. It's a very sad state of affairs. The smartphone is little more than a trojan horse that humanity will benefit from eradicating.
