Journal Journal: ./ Tagging

To put it bluntly, ./'s tagging sucks. It alows anyone to tag anything with any name/title/etc they want. Now, people's political views or whatever can influence an article with just a click of the mouse. It is a bad idea in its current state.

There should be a predefined list of tags that the submitter can select from. The casual ./ reader should not have the ability to change a tag.

Journal Journal: Mac OS X 10.4.6 Update

Since this was rejected by /. I'll post it here.

The 10.4.6 update for Mac OS X has been released. This is a big update (~140 MB for PPC and ~192 MB for Intel) and fixes many problems. A smaller (~65 MB for PPC or ~163 MB for Intel) 10.4.5 to 10.4.6 update file is also available on the Downloads page. Just run Software Update on your Mac and tell it to install or you can download the update file manually if you have a computer that is not connected to the Internet.

Journal Journal: April 1st is Lame on Slashdot

I've been reading Slashdot for several years and I always regret loading it on April Fool's Day. There are always idiots who submit retarded stories and the admins always post them. There are actually good stories out there but one cannot tell where they are because of the stupidity that goes on.

Save yourself some time and go watch Barney or something. It's much more intelligent than this rot.

Journal Journal: Metamoderator No More!

I have decided to stop meta-moderating (MM). After spending why too much useful time on this issue I have found that the claim that MM actually decreases my mod points. I used to get mod points once a week. Now, after MM for a number of months I can honestly say that I get mod points once every two or three months. What a rip...

Journal Journal: From an AC regarding my sig

"Your sig...use "L'essentiel", an e is used in french. Also, instead of saying "pour les yeux" (for the eyes), use "au regard"(to sight), or "a l'oeil nu"(to the naked eye)."
