Journal queenofthe1ring's Journal: job update. 5
So I had my second meeting with the guy offering me a job. The other girl he's hiring was also there. I've never seen 3 people dance so cautiously.
Anywas, he has low expectations for the amount of hours to be worked per week, which is good. He said we'd be capped at about 10 hours per week (whether that was individually, or for both of us together, I don't know). He said there was no rush to get the project done, but that he hopes to have it close to finished by the end of the term.
We'll be using UNIX systems on Macs in the research lab (to which I may get a key!). I'm not so thrilled with the macness, as they just feel weird. I really don't like that it has a camera built into the monitor. Going to have to remember to bring my post-it notes with me.
Best part is that he said it would be fine if I worked from home. He said he would prefer that we do some work there with him, until we're used to it, but after that he didn't really care. So I might actually be able to get something done on this project after all.

I think you're right, as he said it came integrated on the Macs. Now all I have to do is figure out what all the weird buttons do. And also that freaky mouse. It's got like this bump in the middle and some sort of buttons on the sides of it. 8-|
Re:Nice... (Score:1)
The bump works like a scrollwheel, just for up and down and left and right.
If you click on the right side of the bumb and have no finger
on the left, it counts as a right-click, otherwise it is a
left click.
The bump can also be used as an additional mousebutton.
The buttons on the side have to be used by squeezing the mouse.
Have a look at the control panel and there at mouse and keyboard.

Thanks for the good wishes!
Also, I'm pretty sure it's OS X like ces said. I've got Fedora on my computer, which he said would be compatible with the programs and such, so I plan on using that more.
