I've got a laptop with a 1.2 GHz single core and it runs Windows 7 better than it ever ran XP. 1 gigabyte of RAM, integrated Intel chipset. Sure, I can't run transparency, but it runs absolutely fine for wordprocessing and other basic software with no lag.
What I want to happen is for the government to shift the emphasis on the watt to the lumen. Lighting units should have 3 figures: Watt, Lumen and Lumes per Watt. This would allow the consumer to make more informed choices regarding the purchasing of Light bulbs, as we wouldn't have all of these "100 Watt Equivalent" causing unnecessary confusion.
Why is Slashdot so pro Sex Party and not greens? They have around 15% of the primary vote, compared to the 1% or so of the Sex Party, and have very similar, left leaning policies.

Hopefully we do get the 1 Gbps internet. It was a good move, considering the fact that in 2018 100 mbps will be seen as sluggish compared to the world. Anything would be better than what we currently have though. Most people in the cities have around 2mbps, and the highest you can get (at a large premium) is around 30 mpbs. Plus the fact we have download caps of around 5-20 gigabytes on average, Australia's internet is horrible and in good need for a rehaul.
Lasted for approximately 4 hours when I got it, now it lasts on 15 minutes of full charge. Do all Lithium Ion batteries degrade like this? And what actually causes rechargeable batteries to degrade anyway?
Why not use the effort in creating articles in an entirely new wiki to instead improve or add articles for Wikipedia? Wikipedia as we know it today would be much less useful if broken up into thousands of subdomains.
Despite the fact that many video gamers want a R18+ rating in Australia for video games like there is in movies, and there is near unanimous to implement one, the Attorney General of South Australia (heavy Christian Conservative) doesn't approve, so it cant go through. It should be based on majority, not need for unanimity. Its not a jury, and doesnt require measures from one.
Why doesn't Intel just stop trying to create GPU's? I've got a new laptop with one of their graphics chipsets, and it absolutely sucks. Seems like Intel should stick to 'normal' processors.
About a year or two ago, before Dolphin was open sourced, it was a buggy, slow emulator that couldn't run games very well. After it was open sourced, improvements were made extremely rapidly, and even though the rate of increase has designed slightly recently, it's still progressing at a very fast rate. I've been following the project since it was open sourced, and I have to say props to the Dolphin team
