Slow and deliberate, see the Linux operating system, an actual operating system. Microsoft Windows stopped being an operating system a few decades ago. It's a collection of applications written by diverse teams who have no incentive to make one unified set of code with oversight in the major features. This coming from a guy who has been involved in software development since the 1980s. I've used a multitude of operating systems from real time through windows and of course Linux. For my embedded board space, I build Linux from scratch, customized to the actual board and processor arrangement. Windows captured the cheap business PC market in the 90s. No need for perfect code when the users demand the ability to run any app. Glad they corrected the vulnerabilities. Expect this to continue indefinitely.

Same here. Once I got to watch my daily, even hourly, electricity usage, I was able to diagnose some problems. Wait only one day and get results back. I was able to cut my total electricity usage by 40 percent. So either you can use the information to your advantage, or ignore it as yet another nice to have feature. Legislation to make it illegal - morons. I'll scratch Marin of my list of potential places to visit, unless I go on a tour of towns filled with morons.
