"If you vote republican and accept Medicare and social security you are a hypocrite." You really don't know how the system works, do you? When you reach a certain age you are required to use medicare. It's like college loans and Pell grants, they force you to take Pell grants before even loaning money. Same with Medicare, if you have a health plan or not, they force you to use all the Medicare benefits first based on age because it subsidizes the health care industry. Also, Social Security is YOUR money. Just like unemployment. They take it from your paycheck and you take it back later if you are lucky. That's why they are both dependent upon how much you earn and how much you contribute to the system. They also max out at a certain point so you always give more than you are able to get back.

Hearing programmers say that software architects and design documents are useless is like hearing a hammer swinging construction worker say that blueprints are useless. The reality is at some point the tech-savvy people writing design documents were replaced with artists and no one preserved that critical role that needs to be filled by someone who understands both sides and the principles of sound aesthetic, interface and engineering design, let alone project management. A true software architect creates a design doc that serves both artists as well as programmers and engineers and contains the answers to every question anyone could have have. It's a document drafted by a software architect through close collaboration with informed people -- including the client/user. In short, they write a document that is informed by all teams so everyone is on the same page -- and it's in writing. They aren't working with the programmers but would be working with their team lead who speaks for them and represents their knowledge. This includes defining what goes into milestones and delivery dates and knowing what one's team is capable of despite what they say they are capable of, so padding of dates and restricting the amount of deliverables to ensure what is promised is delivered. Writing a design document usually involved no less than six weeks of thinking and talking about the software before anything more than flow diagrams, database schemas, storyboards and wireframes were produced. Usually it meant that for six weeks everyone involved was building the software in their heads and bringing up any and all issues and requirements relevent to their role and making sure it was documented for everyone before any code was written or art elements created. It also helped greatly in wiritng contracts and defining deliverables. And yeah, this role seems to evaporated from professional software development with the advent of "agile" development.

You do understand that there are limits on the number of people and time it takes for a reason don't you? They are two-fold, to keep the door open for non-immigrants to compete (inexpensive but educated labor from poor countries), and more importantly because it takes 6 years for an immigrant to assimilate the culture of the country they are emigrating to. Without that cushion/buffer the result is cultural accommodation and not assimilation. In case you don't know what that means, it means the emigrants replace the existing culture rather than learn to adapt to it. When you are coming from a third world country that means making this first world country more and more like a third world country.

Spiritual leader of all US conservatives? Glenn Beck is a Libertarian, not a Republican. Don't forget he moved to FOX only a year ago after leaving CNN. He simply replaced Ron Paul (who IS a Republican) as the wacky sensationalist. Bill Mahr, Jon Stewart, and Apple commercials are as equally honest in their representation of facts. And for the record if you watch Beck on his show he is one person (sensationalist). If you watch him interviewed as a guest on other programs he is much more rational. Having said that, he is still a sensationalist who breaks out dolls to explain things to people who can understand it otherwise. My advice, use your head and do research using as many sources as possible for information rather than adopting the opinion of those who are popular. Sorry Obamaniacs, that means you need to think too rather than adopting straw man arguments. (Obama stands for sunshine and buttercups. YOU don't like sunshine and buttercups? You must be evil!)

Yeah, what ObsessiveMathsFreak said, and by the way, this is a problem for developers. A lot of kiddies buy a game and share it with 4 other people using shared PSN accounts. People solicit strangers to share games using these accounts, so developers are starting to realize for every copy of a game they sell, they could be selling more if this were not a feature of the PSN. Also, your purchases are associated with your account, so if your PS3 fails, you don't lose access to anything. Furthermore, your saved games can be backed up and are not tied to your hardware so if you do need to replace it you can transfer everything intact to the new system. This is how/why people make saved games available online. Not sure where these people are getting their info, but all you have to do is a Google search to find out how to solve these problems.

It's the people that are the problem. It's not like there will be hoards of people who will be prosecuted with this law. In the book sequel Decker has Rachel in hibernation/turned off for long periods of time to preserve her batteries/lifespan and if I remember correctly Roy Batty is back and teams up with him. Like I said, horrible.
