Baby-boomer here, born in the first year after WWII. I was so glad to escape the universal religious indoctrination and anti-science of the shitty rural town in 1964. There were only a few books hidden in the back room of the school library and an old set of encyclopedias that were the only access to expand knowledge. Out of state college was a huge eye opener. I got in on the early computer push into banking that lead to an expanding career. I built my own IMSAI-8080 computer before Apple or Radio Shack created their first computers. I created web pages in 1995, before most of the world even knew there was an Internet. I now have access to all of the worlds rapidly expanding knowledge with only a few clicks and graduate level open online courses from Ivy League schools. **No way would I ever go back**.
