A fellow I know has wrecked countless cars because he was staring at girls walking along the road. Perhaps we should also pass a law to prevent girls from being outside? Stupid people are going to do stupid things. You can either ban stupid people, or ban all things. Or just accept the fact that this stuff is going to happen.
This makes me wonder if the converse would also be true. Could the music industry through the lyrics of modern music be held accountable for encouraging violent crime? I see no obvious efforts my music publishers to control criminal activity although lyrics continue to become more and more violent over time.
Well, Paul Thurrott is kind of an idiot. Anyone who can be a chearleader for M$ after having used an Amiga has got to have at least a few fasteners torqued well below specification. The iPad is not a netbook first of all and shouldn't be compared to one. He's just whining because this is a formfactor that M$ has been working on for years with nothing to show for it. Once again Apple shows that they know how to design a cool new device.
Since the entire concept of patents is to support innovation, why not give patent a specific and limited amount of time to actually incorporate their ideas and if that isn't met the patent is invalidated? This I think would at least limit patent trolling.
This is EXCELLENT news! As soon as Comcast and the rest of the cheesey internet providers completely destroy the net as we all know and love it GOOGLE can step in with their own alternative internet, net neutral and faster than, well, really really fast! All Hail Google!
