My (13 year old) Windows 10 PC can't be upgraded to Windows 11. I switched to the new M4 Mac mini a couple of weeks ago. It's great!

It's nice to try something new- was always a "gadget person". With smart phones taking over most gadgets, tech has been boring for the last many years. So I get a nice cool little computer and get to try something new- helps to keep my 50 something brain a bit "plastic".
Certainly not interested in a cloud/streaming computer.
5+ years ago, someone took a 1990s Radio Shack flyer and circled in red all the gadgets the smart phone replaced. It was at least 75% of the items in the ad.
This is why it's so hard to find small gifts to give anymore- one just needs their phone. No more gadgets, books, CDs for music, moves on VHS or DVD etc. It's all be subsumed!
An old peeve of mine is that I wish Iomega had allowed others to make Zip disks and drives and collected royalties. The 3.5 inch floppy was around for WAAAAYYY too long before CD-R took over for a while. Zip disks would have fit neatly in there had they just been able to become "a standard".
Oh well. Showing my age.
It's time to upgrade to a Zip disk. Maybe in 20 years go to a CD-R.
